Wahler Talks with President, Cabinet Officials

January 19, 2024 – Piscataway Mayor Brian C. Wahler was thrilled to speak with President Joe Biden, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen as part of a successful United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) meeting in our nation’s capital.

“The Biden Administration understands governing, prioritizes solutions and most importantly, values the rule of law and democracy,” Mayor Wahler said.  “What a relief after the disastrous circus of the Trump presidency to have true leaders back in the executive branch under the extraordinary leadership of President Biden.”

Wahler and his fellow Garden State mayors were also very happy to talk with U.S. Senator Cory Booker, U.S. Representative Josh Gottheimer, U.S. Representative Frank Pallone Jr. and many others who are working for the benefit of New Jersey as well as all of America.

During formal remarks in the East Room of the White House, President Biden spoke of infrastructure improvements, prescription drug cost reductions and the importance of local government to the quality of life enjoyed in our nation.

“Policies, not politics.  Partnerships, not pettiness.  And most of all, principled.  President Joe Biden has brought dignity back to the White House and I am grateful and enthused to have been among many of his admirers to witness his devotion to public service in person today,” Mayor Wahler said.

Mayors from around the United States are now returning to their townships and cities, empowered with strong, renewed relationships among elected officials who can work together to better our communities and country.
