The Community Policing Section’s mission is to promote a partnership between the community and the police.  Towards this goal Community Policing works hand and hand with the Piscataway Board of Education by having School Resource Officers.  There is a detective assigned to the High School, and Detective Tishun Myers and Detective Calvin Laughlin share duties in the 3 Middle Schools.  With the cooperation of the schools we also administer the local LEADS program, under the coordination of Detective Calvin Laughlin. Through these and other programs we encourage community involvement to address the causes of crime, the fear of crime, and quality of life issues within the Township. The Community Policing Section is also responsible for investigating quality of life complaints, crime prevention, Alcoholic Beverage Control licensing, and act as liaisons to our Neighborhood Watch Groups.
