Body worn cameras

The Piscataway Township Police Department has long prioritized protecting the safety of our neighborhoods and safeguarding the rights and dignity of those whom interact with its officers.

To enhance the skilled nature of our local law enforcement, we are moving forward with outfitting our officers with body worn cameras (BWC) and training our personnel on their use. BWC implementation will be done under a framework established by the policies of the New Jersey Attorney General.  As shown in these photos, BWCs will be worn on the outer clothing within the upper to middle torso area to ensure unobstructed recordings.

This new undertaking will promote professional accountability, public transparency and community trust.
