Subdivisions
Major, Minor and Final Subdivisions
A subdivision is required when there is a division of a lot, tract, or parcel of land into two or more lots, tracts, parcels, or other divisions of land for sale, development, or lease.
Minor Subdivision: A minor subdivision is required when the division of land does not involve the following: the creation of more than two lots, planned development, any new street, or the extension of any off-tract improvement. Major Preliminary Subdivision: A major subdivision is required for all subdivisions that are not classified as minor subdivisions. The application is available in the Department of Community Development, Division of Planning, (732) 562-6570 or (732) 562-6560.
Final Subdivision: A final subdivision is required subsequent to preliminary approval, after all of the conditions and requirements of preliminary approval have been met and the required improvements have either been installed or guarantees properly posted for their installation.
