Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Thursday from 1 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Winter Hours: December 14, 2012 - February 26, 2012

Monday - Closed
Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 1:00 p.m. to  3:15 p.m.
Thursday 1:00p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Saturday – 8:00 a.m. to  3:45p.m.


Closed Sunday, Monday and holidays.

Trash Center Coupons and ID Pass Cards

Recycling Center/ Trash Center 2011 Coupons and Recycling Center ID Pass Cards are mailed to all residential property owners.

GENERAL RECYCLING CENTER/TRASH CENTER RULES

NO HAZARDOUS OR TOXIC WASTES, CHEMICALS OR PAINTS ARE ALLOWED TO BE DISPOSED OF AT THE RECYCLING / TRASH CENTER

Who is eligible to use the center? The use of the Township Recycling/Trash Center is available only to Township home dwelling residents.

Prior to entry into the Recycling/Trash Center residents must present their Piscataway Recycling ID Card and drivers license as proof of residency. 

The Center is located at the Municipal Complex between the Department of Public Works and the Police Department.

Residents are required to have their vehicle properly insured, inspected and registered.

RECYCLING CENTER

The Recycling ID Pass entitles residents to entry with curbside recyclables.

Coupons are NOT required for disposal of recyclable material.

This includes commingled - bottles, cans, aluminum, #1 & #2 plastic containers, mixed paper, cardboard and newspapers.

The Recycling Center also takes leaves, motor oil, two tires per trip, metal, auto batteries, dry cell batteries, anti-freeze, vegetation, leaves and branches for recycling. 

Residents are encouraged to recycle electronics- televisions and computers, hazardous household material and paint at Middlesex County locations on the designated dates and times listed in your 2010 Recycling Guide.

Note: Recycling Textile Bags for curbside collection are available in the Public Works office.

GRASS COUPONS

Coupons WILL BE required for disposal of grass and are now available for purchase in the Tax Collectors Office.  Cost per coupon is $1.00 minimum of two.  Each coupon is good for a 35 gallon container or bag.  Larger containers will require two (2) or more coupons, depending on size.

TRASH CENTER

Residents are mailed four (4) Trash Center Coupons each year. 

A coupon is required for each automobile trip for disposal of household debris, carpeting, furniture, bagged brush, lumber, and all other acceptable non-recyclable materials.

  • Pickup trucks are required to surrender two coupons per trip. NO trucks larger than a half- ton pickup truck are permitted.
  • One additional coupon will be required from any vehicle towing a trailer. The trailer cannot be larger than 4X8 feet.
  • Kitchen garbage is NOT accepted.
  • NO contractor debris, concrete or other rock type debris is permitted.     
  • NO Disposal of Hazardous Material or Toxic Waste is allowed.

Any violations are subject to fines as provided for in the Piscataway Township Ordinance.

The Township of Piscataway reserves the right to rescind dumping privileges to any individual who brings in debris from the operation of a business, from out of town, contractor debris or anyone not abiding by the required protocol, standards and regulations of the Township Ordinance.

CURBSIDE BULK TRASH AND BRANCH PICKUP APPOINTMENTS

To make appointments for Bulk Trash or Branch pickups call the DPW at 732-562- 2390.

Residents can schedule two Bulk Trash pickups and one Branch pickup per calendar year.

Curbside household bulk trash and debris pickups are available from January to September by appointment.

Branches are also recyclable at curbside with one Appointment only from January to September.

Note: Curbside Bulk Trash and Branch pickup appointments are suspended from October to December during Leaf Pickup Season.
