Winner of the Fajr Film Festival, “Day Break” is based on a compilation of true stories around Mansour, a man found guilty of murder. Book Group Discusses “The Plot Against America” at Piscataway Library
Join the upcoming Kennedy Book Discussion Group meeting on Wednesday, April 16 at 10:00 am at the J. F. Kennedy Library to discuss this year’s One Book New Jersey Adult Selection, “The Plot Against America” by Philip Roth. The group is limited to 12 participants so those interested should reserve their place early by signing up at the reference desk at Kennedy Library or by calling the Library at 732-463-1633, ext. 6.
Philip Roth, considered by many to be one of America's greatest contemporary novelists, creates this disturbing tale of "what if?" What if Charles Lindberg, national hero, described as a "rabid isolationist, Nazi sympathizer and crypto-fascist," was elected president in the 1940 election instead of FDR? This alternative history novel is told from the semi-autobiographical perspective of seven-year-old Philip, growing up with his family in the predominantly Jewish Weequahic section of Newark.
