Municipal Alliance
PISCATAWAY TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL ALLIANCE
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Piscataway Township Municipal Alliance Committee is to work with the police, schools, community/religious groups and businesses to provide community members with quality programs, which educate our citizens about drug, alcohol and tobacco abuse and misuse. Part of this mission is to also provide a coordinated approach to advocacy, collaboration and education to promote wellness among all age groups and to keep individuals and families healthy and safe.
PURPOSE
The Piscataway Township Municipal Alliance Committee is a coalition of citizens from the business, church and school community as well as members of local organizations. Alliance members work together on a volunteer basis to develop, plan, and implement programs and activities, which will assist in the prevention of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD).
The Alliance receives funding from several sources including the State of New Jersey, through Drug Education Demand Reduction (DEDR) funds, the Township of Piscataway and local donations from businesses and private citizens. The State of New Jersey provides half of the funding for the Alliance through a grant from the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. Piscataway Township matches the grant through 25% cash match and 75% as an In-Kind (goods and services) donation.
The Municipal Alliance is a very significant resource throughout the entire community so as we plan our 2009 calendar, we will be sure everyone is informed as we encourage Community Members to attend as many programs as possible throughout the year.
Being ATOD FREE in Piscataway Township Is Easy As 1-2-3!!!
