The design of the Piscataway Township Recreation Department is to encourage creative expression and physical activity that engage young and mature participants. 

By offeringchildren's arts and crafts, youth baseball and basketball, cheering, football, gym hockey, martial arts, adult softball, tennis, co-ed volleyball, walking/jogging club, wrestling, picnicking, twenty-six parks to stroll, and, if that's not enough, an Annual July 4th celebration and fireworks spectacular Recreation is "Creating Community Through People, Parks, and Playgrounds".  Come be a part of the Piscataway community and see what all the fun is about.

Founded in 1994, the program has continued to grow throughout the years. Piscataway Martial Arts combines the aspects of multiple styles, such as Cuong Nhu, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, and Wing Chun to teach students self-defense. 

During the school year, September through June, the program is held at Conackamack Middle School on Tuesdays & Fridays, 7:00-9:00pm.  Instructor notifies participants of any changes/cancellations due to the school calendar.  IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING, PLEASE BRING COMPLETED FORMS WITH YOU DURING OPEN MEMBERSHIP PERIODS.

New Member Requirements: 

Open to children age 6 and up, or by Head Instructor approval

 Age 15 and older should join Cuong Nhu 

 Space is limited.

THIRD thru FIFTH Grades

Saturdays January to March at Knollwood Elementary School. Have fun while learning basketball fundamentals. No registration is required. Grade 3 - 1:00pm;     Grade 4 - 2:00pm;     Grade 5 - 3:00pm


SECOND thru EIGHTH Grades

Saturdays January to March at Knollwood Elementary School. Have fun while learning basketball fundamentals. No registration is required.     

Grades 2, 3, 4 - 9:00am;     Grade 5, 6, 7, 8 - 10:30am


MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL


Grades Kindergarten through Sixth Grade

Location: Quibbletown Middle School cafeteria.

Begins, Saturday, January 7, 2017 and ends Saturday, March 25th.

ŸKindergarten, first & second graders from 9:00–10:30am

Third, fourth, fifth & sixth graders from 11:00am–12:30pm

All children should come dressed ready to use paint and glue.  Register online starting Thursday, December 1.  There is no charge for this program or any of the projects.

 


(Summer only)

Participants must be Piscataway residents who will be in grades 9–12 in the fall of 2016 . Proof of residence must be provided for admission.

Open gym starts Wednesday June 22 and ends August 2016 exact date to be announced. The program is held at the Piscataway High School Anthony Gym, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00pm.

     PICNIC RESERVATIONS REQUESTS FOR RIVERSIDE AND POSSUMTOWN PARKS WILL BE ACCEPTED STARTING TUESDAY FEBRUARY 2ND 2016 at 2:00 P.M.  YOU MUST COME TO THE RECREATION DEPARTMENT IN PERSON TO SUBMIT A REQUEST.

WALKING / JOGGING CLUB

Do it for YOU... Do it for LIFE

Open to residents 18 years of age and older. Designed to coordinate those interested in walking or jogging within a group atmosphere on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. Walk or jog along the Bike Path at Green Acres on Sidney Road.  Registration starts Wednesday, March 2 and end April 15.  All residents must register even if you participated last year.  The program starts on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 6:30pm and ends in October. Take the time to invest in your body, mind, spirit for a healthier you. You're worth it!

The Piscataway Braves Cheerleading program is open to youth 7-15 years old.  Cheerleader must turn 7 before August 1 and cannot turn 15 until after July 31.
