CHECK OUT THE NEW BIKEWAY IN PISCATAWAY
The Piscataway Bikeways & Pedestrian Commission recently reported
the completion of a new bikeway in the Township. The new paved path
completely encircles the ball fields making it an attractive venue
for cyclists, joggers, power walkers or strollers. The path begins
at the Public Works Building, Sidney Road, crosses Sidney Road and
extends to the playing fields behind Piscataway High School. Ultimately,
it will connect to the Kermit Serois Bikeway and link J. F. Kennedy
Library, Municipal Building, Little League fields and the High School
with a single integrated bikeway. In addition, the loop has an outlet
to Behmer Road and can be accessed from two points on the High School
campus. Al Drabnis, Chair of the Commission noted, “The loop
has several curves and a dip which can help increase ones heart
rate. The Commission encourages those who ride, run, or walk to
utilize the new path.”
The bikeway was funded by a grant from the State Livable Communities Program.
