Happy New Year and Happy Birthday as, together, we celebrate our 350th anniversary in 2016!

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY AS,TOGETHER, WE CELEBRATE OUR 350TH ANNIVERSARY IN 2016
Its that time of year that we look forward to new beginnings and hope that the new year will bring peace and prosperity to all those at home and around the world who are suffering in one form or another. On behalf of myself and the Township Council I wish all of our residents a happy and healthy 2016. If you have questions or need information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact my office at 732-562-2301.

The year 2016 is a very special year for Piscataway Township. We celebrate our 350th birthday and throughout the entire year we will be in a celebratory mood. The year was kicked off with the publication of the 350th Anniversary Commemorative Calendar. The calendar, surely a labor of love, took several years to put together by resident Jerry Gargiulo and the Historical and Heritage Society committee. It was a gargantuan task but the result is not only a useful and interesting calendar but a wonderful visual example of our historic past. Calendars are available in the Township Clerk’s Office, J. F. Kennedy Library, Westergard Library, the Senior Citizen Center and the Metlar-Bodine House Museum. For a suggested donation of $3 and the cost
of postage, calendars will be mailed to you or your gift recipient. Requests can be made by email 350@piscatawaynj.org or by phone: 732-562-2301.
Continuing our 350th Anniversary celebration, the Piscataway Historical and Heritage Society and the Anniversary Committee will co-sponsor a presentation by Quick Chek CEO, Dean Durling , on Sunday, January 31st. This will be the first of a series of
presentations by businesses with locations in the Township that serve our community. The general themes of these presentations will be the history of the business and how its products or services serve the people of the area. The program, scheduled for 2 p.m. will be held at the J. F. Kennedy Library, Hoes Lane and Buena Vista Avenue. Please join us for an interesting and informative program. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. Please be sure, throughout the year, to check our Web site: www.piscatawaynj.org, our TV station, Channel 15, future PISCATAWAY NEWS, Piscataway’s Facebook page, and the monthly EYE ON PISCATAWAY television show for the many programs and events that are in the works to celebrate our 350th – our past, our present and our future.
